According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group has bought the international distribution rights to Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, as Warner Bros. is handling U.S. and Canadian distribution rights for the movie.
Variety.com reports that the movie will open on May 22, 2009, the start of Memorial Day weekend.
The movie, directed by Supernatural's producer McG, is the fourth of the Terminator movies and the first in a new Terminator trilogy, being set after Judgment Day, showing the formation of the resistance.
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins begins lensing in New Mexico for two months on May 5.
