Supernatural star Jensen Ackles and his family are opening a brewery, Family Business Brewing Co., in Dripping Springs. The brewery and taproom will focus on various beer types, including ales, lagers, session IPAs, and barrel-aged stouts. It’s aiming to open before the end of the summer.
After a SUPERNATURAL panel that included a live performance by Kansas, actors Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins joined producers Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb for the show’s press room, which gave us an opportunity to learn more about Lucifer’s son, how Mary will survive in the alternate world, the upcoming SUPERNATURAL spin-off and what’s to come for Sam and Dean Winchester in season 13.
The band Kansas surprised the thousands of fans gathered in Hall H for a surprise performance of the show’s unofficial theme song, “Carry On Wayward Son.” The song was first used back in the season one finale during a montage, and has since been used for every season finale since then. The potential Supernatural spinoff has added Kathryn Newton (as Claire Novak), Katherine Ramdeen (Alex Jones) and Briana Buckmaster (Sheriff Donna Hanscum) to its cast. The trio will join Kim Rhodes (as Sheriff Jody Mills) in a backdoor pilot airing as a Season 13 episode of the long-running CW series.
There are all sorts of crossovers in TV land. The DC heroes on The CW have their own Justice League with four-way crossover events, Netflix’s heroes of Hell’s Kitchen are coming together in The Defenders, the world of New Girl collided with Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and there’s even gonna be an animated crossover between Supernatural and Scooby-Doo. But, while a Supernatural–Arrow mashup isn’t the craziest concept we’ve heard, actors Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are pretty realistic about its chances of happening.
