In her youth, Katie Cassidy was an active child: she partook in gymnastics, studied piano, played guitar and sang, went for lessons in acting and dancing as well as becoming a cheerleader for the California Flyers. Her creativity was directed in all areas and it appears almost inevitable that she step into the world of stardom as she was born and raised amidst the dazzling life of show business.
As it stands, Cassidy’s professional range extends into the arts of singing, modelling and acting. In 2002, the music industry opened its doors for her when she landed a deal with Artemis Records to cover her father–teen heartthrob David Cassidy’s, hit song: “I Think I Love You”. Following this, she quickly landed a role in VH1’s Bubblegum Babylon.
Her position as a star in her own right was cemented with roles in various television series such as The Division, Listen Up, 7th Heaven and Sex, Love & Secrets. Cassidy also has additional film credits in The Lost, When a Stranger Calls, Click, You Are Here, and Black Christmas. Her latest project is a starring role opposite Liam Neeson and Maggie Grace in a film titled Taken. Currently in the works is a big screen adaptation of Dallas where she has landed the leading role of Lucy Ewing, daughter of the infamous J.R. Ewing.
Cassidy is currently playing the role of Ruby, a demon hunter, in Supernatural’s third season.
