Thursdays 9PM time slot

Canada.com has an article on the fall TV season, paying special attention to Thursday, September 17, when "TV's picture is suddenly absurdly, unnecessarily and intolerably crowded."

"The situation is worse at 9 p.m., when Fringe, The Office, CSI, Grey's Anatomy and the returning Supernatural will all face off in the same time period. (30 Rock returns Oct. 15, and will air at 9:30, behind The Office.)

Fringe, The Office, CSI, Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural and 30 Rock are all worthwhile shows. They all have something to recommend them — but to see all of them you would need multiple PVRs, not to mention a way of splitting your cable or satellite signal. Is it any wonder viewing levels are falling off and advertisers are throwing up their hands in despair at never again being able to reach a sizable mainstream audience?

The answer, of course — for viewers, if not advertisers — is online streaming, and downloads for later viewing.

In the meantime, those same viewers can only hope the networks don't panic and cancel one of their favourite shows because it was murdered by the competition."
