In an interview with The Trades, Lora Innes was asked who would she pick to play her core characters if The Dreamer was to have a big-screen adaptation. "I use Jensen Ackles as Captain Nathan Hale, but I’m afraid he’s far too cool and sexy to pull off Nathan’s intellectual, overly-wordy quirkiness. Who knows, maybe it’s because he’s never been cast in a role like that!"
