According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast to co-star John Cusack and Ken Watanabe in Shanghai.
"Morgan plays Connor, an American killed in Japanese-occupied Shanghai before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Cusack's Paul Soames sets out to investigate his friend's murder and discovers a larger secret that the government is hiding." Source.
Mikael Hafstrom is directing from a script by Hossein Amini. Phoenix's Mike Medavoy and Barry Mendel are producing, with Arnie Messer executive producing.
The movie is in production in Thailand.
