On the cast list: Blood and Gore

April 9, 2009

From The Los Angeles Times Harper's Island article: "It's not as if the networks have an aversion to gut-wrenching fare. "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" in all its forms regularly features horrifyingly defaced corpses, often sexualized (a key element of the slasher ethos) and the CW's “Supernatural” should simply include Blood and Gore in the cast list. Lately, however, those arterial sprays have left wider and more vivid patterns."

On the CW ratings

April 8, 2009

The Los Angeles Times has a feature on the CW's recent ratings.

"But thanks to "Gossip Girl" — another soap about rich, fashionably attired young people — as well as two old reliables, the reality contest "America's Next Top Model" and the thriller "Supernatural," CW looks this spring to be holding its own, if not exactly rebounding."

Variety.com reports that "CW had its best showing since November, getting a nice lift Thursday from "Supernatural" (1.5/4 in 18-49, 3.27m), which had its best adults 18-34 score (1.7/5) since airing on the WB in October 2006. Garnering a 1.9/6 in men 18-34, it took advantage of no basketball on the night for the first time in three weeks as well as the absence of the demo's timeslot leader (NBC's "The Office"/"30 Rock")."
