JEREMY CARVER EXPLAINS CASTING NEW WINCHESTER

December 4, 2012

The Winchester family tree continues to expand with news that this season will introduce Henry Winchester, Sam and Dean’s paternal grandfather, who will time travel his way into the present day in episode 12 of this season.

And as executive producer Jeremy Carver reveals, the episode, which will air in the new year, will be a loaded bag for Sam and Dean. “The episode really allows them not just to delve into a piece of family lore that they really will carry with them moving forward in this season and seasons beyond, it also, frankly, forces them to deal again with some issues related to their grandfather and their father, John,” he says. “For me, that’s one of the most fun things about the show — all of these little patches of history and mythology that we can fill in.”

But will the episode, which Carver describes as “fun [and] heartfelt,” be the only time we see Henry, who will be played by ER vet Gil Mckinney? Or will he be a looming presence, much like Sam and Dean’s other grandfather Samuel Campbell, who we first met in season 4 and had a large arc in season 6? “That’s not to be disclosed,” says Carver.… Read More

Question: I gotta say, this new version of Dean Winchester on Supernatural leaves me downright tingly all over! Any chance you might have some news about what’s on the horizon for our deliciously messed up Purgatory escapee? —Gina

Ausiello: You thought he was getting deeper, Gina, but your favorite Winchester brother is actually going to become two-dimensional in the show’s upcoming cartoon-inspired episode. Supe fans already know that the outing will find ‘toon elements enmeshed with the real world; I can add that all of the deaths in the ep are cartoon tropes – such as anvils falling from the sky and people plummeting off ledges after hovering in mid-air for a few seconds. I also hear that Sam, Dean and Castiel will step inside an actual cartoon (think Bob Hoskins in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?). Finally, all of the Saturday-morning-style fun will take place in the season’s eighth episode. As Porky Pig said, that’s all folks!

Supernatural spoiler from E!

November 6, 2012

Supernatural is once again dabbling with time travel! This time, it’s not the boys heading back in time, but a cult member named Henry (think Cary Grant meets Robert Downey Jr.) traveling from 1958 traveling to 2013. And it seems like he brings something pretty important along with him…

Castiel Spoilers from EW

‘SUPERNATURAL’: DISH ON CAS
I’m still reeling from last week’s season premiere of Supernatural. But the one thing that has left me with a pit of fear in my stomach is this mystery surrounding Cas. (Seriously, how creepy was Dean while talking about it in the cabin? Love!) But as Misha Collins told a group of journos during a set visit to Vancouver, whatever transpired in Purgatory between the two of them started off as an act of penance for Cas.

“[Cas] left Dean because he wanted to try to keep him safe,” he says. “[Cas] being around is actually a liability in Purgatory, and he’s working to try to right the wrongs of his past doings.”

Episodes 7 and 8 will reveal much much more on that front as well as enlighten the audience about Cas’ arc for the season that involves a big threat, says Collins. “There’s something going on with Cas that neither Cas nor the brothers know. Cas is sort of being manipulated behind the scenes and he’s not aware of that and neither are the boys,” he says. “We’ll see how that affects their relationship in the long run.”

Meanwhile, when will we learn Cas’s thoughts on Dean’s new vampire buddy Benny?… Read More

Question: You’ve been skimping on the Supernatural scoopage lately. What’s in store for Sam and Dean? —Jordan

Ausiello: Kevin the prophet’s mom (played by Lauren Tom) resurfaces in the Oct. 10 episode and, per exec producer Jeremy Carver, her presence “gives the boys, in an odd way, a bit of a mother figure that they haven’t had for a long time. It’s a fun dynamic. It can be a rather moving dynamic at times also. And of course, it also gives you a fourth wheel in the car that you’ve got to deal with.”

Ramona: Kristin, I’ve barely seen any Supernatural scoop from you! What gives?

It’s because Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are just too tough to look at. Ah, we kid. But we were hesitant to give up this scoop because it makes us a wee bit sad. The fourth episode of the new season will barely feature Sam and Dean, because it’s focused on three teenagers who get wolf powers, and in a nod to the movie Chronicle, it’s shot entirely with handheld camera.

CW’s description for Supernatural’s season 8

September 4, 2012

CW has posted a description for season eight on their website.

Season Eight begins with Dean’s seemingly impossible escape from Purgatory, though Castiel is nowhere to be found.  However, Dean isn’t alone.  He’s returned with a mysterious comrade-in-arms whose reason for escape is perhaps more than Dean bargained for.  Meanwhile, Sam finds himself reconciling the life he discovered while Dean was gone with Dean’s sudden reappearance.  As the boys struggle with their unexpected reunion, they make a shocking discovery that could lead them on a deeply personal mission to settle old scores.  If only they could agree – is this a “family business” or isn’t it?… Read More

Supernatural scoop. Please please please!! — Leslie
That sounds an awful lot like begging. I like it. So here’s what I can tell you: Episode 5, titled “Blood Brothers,” will find the brothers on somewhat separate journeys. Dean is called to aid the being that helped him out of Purgatory (but can’t tell Sam!) and Sam, meanwhile, spends some time with the lady friend he fell for while apart from Dean.

Casting News for Supernatural Episode 8.04 – Bitten

August 10, 2012

“Supernatural” returns to The CW with Season 8 on Wednesday, October 3rd, and while we don’t have a lot of additional info yet on the new season, we do have some casting news for the fourth episode, which is entitled “Bitten.”
It sounds like someone must be getting bitten pretty badly because the episode calls for a Coroner, who will be played by Nneka Croal (“The 4400,” “Arrow”).
