I ran into Alona Tal at the CBS party, and since we get so many emails asking if her character Jo would be returning to Supernatural, I asked them what was going on with her future on the show. Alona's husband told me that Jensen Ackles told him, "If there was a way to get her back he would do it." And Alona told me, "The last thing I heard was that it hadn't worked out the way that the producers had expected, because I look apparently like their 14-year-old sister. I honestly don't know what's going to happen, but if I had the chance, I would love to go back to Supernatural." Lauren Cohan was born in Philadelphia, raised in New Jersey and bred in the United Kingdom, where she graduated from the University of Winchester (previously known as King Alfred’s College) with a BA in Drama and English Literature. Following graduation, Cohan went on tour with the theatre company she co-founded while at university.
Due to the direction her career was taking, Cohan then divided her time and work between London and Los Angeles.
In 2005, Cohan made her debut in the feature film Casanova and her role as Sister Beatrice was one that propelled her into the limelight. Additional film credits include The Quiet Assassin, Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj, Young Alexander the Great and her latest project Float, where she stars as Emily Fulton opposite Gregory Itzin who acts as her father, Ray Fulton.
Cohan revives her Winchester connection, not at university but in the world of television, as she has joined the cast of the The CW’s hit series Supernatural as Bela, a confident mercenary who lacks a conscience.
