"Well, it’s official. ‘Supernatural’ surely doesn’t fear the reaper.  We’ve seen the heavenly host, manifestations of the seven deadly sins, most of the riders of the Apocalypse and Lucifer himself. Heck, a few weeks ago we got a hotel consortium of pagan gods. But tonight’s episode gave us a concept as character; Death, in the flesh, roaming the streets of Chicago and preempting a massive, apocalyptic disaster. And, it worked, in a number of perfectly creepy ways."

Genre Shows Faring Well In Sweeps Compared To Top Programs

"'Supernatural' has shown some growth, however. The show earned a 1.5/2 to kick off February sweeps, but came in this past reporting period with a 1.7/3, a 13 percent jump. It was the only genre show to improve its numbers from the previous sweeps period. "Supernatural" also is even with its November sweeps comparative, showing that audiences are staying put with the Winchester Brothers."

Ratings for “Two Minutes to Midnight”

"The CW capped off this first Thursday in May (and eighth night of the May sweeps) with freshman hit The Vampire Diaries (Viewers: #5, 3.37 million; A18-49: #4, 1.6/ 5) and Supernatural (Viewers: #5, 2.52 million; A18-49: #5, 1.2/ 3)."  Both shows were pre-empted in Chicago, so the numbers will probably go down a little.
