Lauren Cohan Cast in CW’s Heavenly

March 16, 2011

"Lauren Cohan has landed the female lead  in the CW supernatural drama pilot Heavenly. Ryan Eggold also has been tapped for a lead role in the project, from CBS TV Studios and writer Richard Hatem. Heavenly centers on Lily (Cohan), a dedicated young female attorney, and a former angel, Dashiel Coffee (Ben Aldridge), only recently turned human, who tackle cases at the attorney's legal aid clinic – she saves clients' butts while he saves their souls. Eggold, repped by Gersh and Untitled, will play a pastor whom Dashiel seeks counsels from. Also previously cast in the pilot is Elizabeth Ho. Cohan has recurred on two CW series, Supernatural and Vampire Diaries."

‘On Writing’ with Jim Beaver…

March 15, 2011

"Though Jim Beaver has been working in Hollywood for over four decades as an acclaimed actor on stage, in film, and in television, he also published an extremely touching and heartfelt memoir a few years ago. Though that book was centered on his life with his family and ultimately the loss of his beloved wife Cecily, it reached many more– even those who had never lost anyone so close to them. He wrote with heart, with humor, and with the utmost honesty. And considering how much material he must have from his time in the industry, there has to be another book in him, right?"

CW close to naming successor for Ostroff

March 15, 2011

"At CW, Ostroff made it clear some months ago to her bosses at the net's parent companies that after nearly 10 years with UPN and CW, she's ready for a change and looking to reunite with her family in New York after being bicoastal for several years.

It's not immediately clear who is the leading candidate for the gig, but what is clear is that the exec will be announced sooner rather than later — well before the CW's upfront on May 19 — in order to give the person a chance to have a hand in selecting this year's pilot orders and to work with Ostroff on other transitional issues."

Spoilers from EW.com

March 15, 2011

From EW.com:

So, we all know you went to the Supernaturalpanel at PaleyFest. So DISH! — Amanda
How ever did you know? It was probably the sound of the heaven’s opening up that alerted you. Anyway, to add to the season finale scoop I posted this weekend, Jim Beaver also told me that as we cruise through the rest of the season we can expect to see a lot more of a group dynamic, meaning more Bobby and Cas!! “The last few episodes of the season are very much a team effort. My sense of it is it’s not a lot of us going off on our separate ways. It’s a lot of us working together on the big questions facing us and we answer a few of them – but not all of them,” he said. As for what questions will be answered, he couldn’t say much, but offered up this extreme tease: “Certain relationships among the group have some rather climactic shifts. Don’t expect the four of us to all be relating the same way at the end of the season as we were at the beginning.” The sound you hear now, is my heart thumping in fear.… Read More
