The Grim Reaper is one of many surprise guests to pop up soon on the WB's exceptional new horror series

THE SKINNY: At the WB's TCA press tour today, SUPERNATURAL stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki spoke briefly about what to expect during the rest of the season of their break-out new horror series.
"We've already tackled the Hook Man, Bloody Mary, and the Phantom Traveler, but there are still a great deal more spooky, unexplained urban legends that we still plan to explore this season," explains Padalecki. "During the second half of the season, we'll visit the Grim Reaper, explore many varieties of the occult, and meet a young man who shares not only Sam's psychic abilities, but also the pain of losing his mother to a fire-starting demon. We'll also discover that things that go bump in the night aren't the only reasons to be afraid in this world," says Padalecki.
Ackles adds: "We'll also get closer and closer to finding our father, who you will see and learn a lot more about, along with our pasts, present and future."
It was important for the two actors to show up and introduce WB chairman Garth Ancier and Entertainment President David Janollari today, because they were grateful for the network and the television critics for supporting the show and allowing it breathe and build which other genre shows have faded away all too quickly (THRESHOLD and THE NIGHT STALKER anyone?)
"It's been fun growing along with these characters and learning about their back story, as [creator] Eric Kripke has been careful not to divulge too much information too quickly, while giving viewers enough information to keep them interested in coming back for more," notes Ackles.
