Organ donation event Saturday at Sundance

SUNDANCE — The James Redford Institute for Transplant Awareness will host "Share the Beat," a benefit event to raise awareness and support for organ donation, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Sundance Resort's Eccles Outdoor Amphitheater.
James Redford will host the event designed to celebrate hope in transplantation through music, inspiration and awareness.
Actors James Denton ("Desperate Housewives") and Jeffrey Dean Morgan ("Grey's Anatomy," "Supernatural") are scheduled to appear at "Share the Beat," and Rivers Rutherford and Alana Grace highlight the list of musical performers. Rutherford is a singer/songwriter whose hits include "Real Good Man" (recorded by Tim McGraw) and "When I Get Where I'm Going" (recorded by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton). Grace will perform her song "Black Roses Red" from the film "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants." Other scheduled guests include Ryan Merriman ("The Ring 2"), Southern singer/songwriter Bobby Joyner and Park City musician Alexa Wilkinson.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a gourmet barbecue in the grove adjacent to the Eccles Outdoor Amphitheater. The event will conclude following the concert with a VIP after party at the Sundance Rehearsal Hall.
Tickets are available at www.smithstix.com or by calling 223-4567. Prices range from $25 to $250.
JRI is a nonprofit organization that uses the power of media to encourage people to make a lifetime commitment to be organ donors and to have that message spread to their friends and family.
Funds from the event will help support JRI's new youth-produced animated public service announcement workshops and educational outreach initiatives on the Web.
