Season two news and information

Michael Ausiello with season two casting information and storylines (spoilers alert!), as well as with the news that Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are schedule to attend the CW launch party, this Monday in Los Angeles.

Question: Supernatural scoop, please!— Liz
Ausiello: Projectile-vomit alert! Exorcist icon Linda Blair will show up during November sweeps to bust Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles for, among other things, performing exorcisms! "For two seasons, the guys have been pulling cons and crimes and they've always just slipped out of the grasp of police," says series creator Eric Kripke. "Well, the police finally catch up with them in a big way, and Linda plays the detective who is put on their case." Interesting footnote: this bit of stunt casting was actually orchestrated by the folks over at Extra as part of their new "A Star Is Reborn" feature, where they attempt to jump-start the careers of has-beens professionally challenged individuals.

Question: How many episodes of Supernatural will Jeffrey Dean Morgan be in this season? I heard he's only in the first episode.— Rebbie
Ausiello: According to Kripke, he'll be in more than one. Speaking of Supernatural, Kripke confirmed that Meg from Veronica Mars' (aka Alona Tal) has joined the cast as a love interest for Jensen Ackles. "She's coming in as a character named Jo. The boys come across a roadhouse that their father never told them about. It's kind of a rest stop for hunters, and a woman named Ellen owns it. Jo is her daughter. She's wired into the world of hunters and she's strong and smart and interacts with the boys and there are sparks between her and Dean. We take it really slow. The roadhouse and her character appear every four or five episodes. We're certainly not interested in rushing into anything. But the idea is to build a relationship over the course of the season and do it naturally and organically, rather than the guys hooking up with a different girl in every port."

Question: How long is Amber Benson going to be on Supernatural?— Sara
Ausiello: As of now, just the one. Kripke confirms that he cast her as a vampire as a "nod to her days on Buffy. She plays the leader of a nest of vampires that the boys come across. We're sort of twisting the vampire story into a new and surprising direction."
