‘Swan Song’ Variant Supernatural Impala & Sam’s Army Man to be released at San Diego Comic-Con

CineQuest.com and GreenLight Collectibles announced today they are releasing a limited episode-specific Supernatural die-cast Impala this summer, complete with a replica of Sam Winchester’s toy army man.

The licensed “Swan Song” Impala is a replica of the Impala as it appeared on the Rainbow Motors lot, where it was purchased by John Winchester. It features Rainbow Motors dealer plates, the price and year as marked on the windshield in white paint and all the dust it gathered while sitting on the used car lot.

The black 1967 4-door Chevrolet Impala SS was fan-dubbed the Metallicar due to Dean Winchester’s love of classic rock music. The car has been featured prominently throughout the series, most notably in the Season 5 finale, Swan Song, in which the Impala – imbued with so many of the boys’ memories, experiences and dreams – helps Sam Winchester fight back against Lucifer.

“The Impala is one of our favorite characters from Supernatural and it was never more important to the Winchester brothers’ story than in Swan Song,” CineQuest.com President Mark Del Vecchio said. “We worked with the great people at GreenLight to replicate the car as it appeared when John Winchester bought it and then to create a replica of Sam’s toy army man as a special bonus.”

“The Impala, of course, has all the things other cars have… and a few things they don’t. But none of that stuff’s important. This is the stuff that’s important: the army man that Sam crammed in the ashtray – it’s still stuck there. The Legos that Dean shoved into the vents – to this day, heat comes on and they can hear ’em rattle. These are the things that make the car theirs – really theirs. Even when Dean rebuilt her from the ground up, he made sure all these little things stayed, ’cause it’s the blemishes that make her beautiful.
